Another way you can promote liberty is to volunteer for compliance checks. When you attempt to buy, warn the cashier that you are under 21 and are conducting a compliance check. Every outlet in town passes the test. The cops will think they’ve won.

Always tell surveys you never exercise your right to drink. That will also help make the enemy think they’ve won.

If you were looking for a website that says it’s okay to drink and drive, (provided you haven’t had too, too much) you’re in the wrong place. This website supports the inherent natural right of people under 21 to drink and not drive, because they’re not the property of the government, whose only legitimate function is to secure people’s rights, not violate them by imposing a drinking age. (Maybe you should try RIDL.) This webmaster has found plenty of material on the injustices in the legal system, faced by people accused of drunk driving, but this site is about the right of people under 21 to drink responsibly.

Politically, it is much more expedient to trample the rights of outvoted discrimination victims than to crack down on drunk driving. The strict drunk driving laws would apply to the lawmakers themselves.

Convicted felons on parole are forbidden to drink, because of crimes they committed. Innocent citizens under 21 are forbidden to drink, because of crimes somebody else committed. That is totally unjust.

Thank you, Governor Pataki, for telling us that thwarting terrorists is “Just as important” as combating underage drinking. If I’m on a jet, I for one would rather have the high school students in the next row get served beer than have hijackers crash the jet into a Manhattan skyscraper. Of course, we all know what happened when those high school kids tried to order beers on TWA Flight 800 out of JFK. They got shot down.

The big question is: Okay, you’ve been drinking, so now how do you get home? The sick answer in convention wisdom is that if you’re over 21, you automatically have enough driving experience that you can drive home safely. That is the real reason behind the drinking age.

If they actually cared about drunk driving, why do they force good drivers to subsidize the insurance rates of these criminals? Convicted drunk drivers pay more, but these rates aren’t high enough to cover the risk, and it’s considered unfair that one insurance company should get them all, so they are assigned to insurance companies by the state government, a process known as the assigned risk pool. Why not raise the rates even higher, so the insurance companies would want them? Then the criminals couldn’t afford the coverage, and so they wouldn’t drive. The oil companies wouldn’t like that.

MADD used Miss Teen USA to promote BuzzFree Prom ’05. Shelley Hennig, they say, was devastated when her brother died in a drunk driving crash at 18. What they don’t bother to mention is that he was the drunk driver, and also killed a 17-year-old girl.

Gang rape is democracy. Five persons say “Yes,” one person says “No,” the majority rules, and elects one of themselves “sheriff” whose job is to grab and handcuff the victim, and force the victim into the sheriff’s van, and deliver the victim to the place where the will of the majority is to be carried out. One vote is useless, and so is campaigning. The majority would enjoy the victim’s helpless cries, “Please don’t vote wrong!”

Trying to reason with the hate-mongering MADD bigots and their ilk in state legislatures is about as futile. Like rapists, they get a deep sense of satisfaction from their malicious wrongdoing. They care about the inherent rights of innocent people no more than rapists do.

Enemies of liberty demand that people under 21, if they want to drink legally, must first “convince” a class of people who refuse to be convinced, who insist on holding their wrong opinion about where to draw the line between the inherent natural rights of outvoted citizens and the authority some other citizens delegated to their government. They have every right to hold whatever opinions they want, of course, but they cross the line when they vote for government-sponsored violence, the use of gun-toting goons in bulletproof vests, against innocent people who are peacefully drinking their own property.

Revoking drivers licenses for several years for first offense drunk driving would put a lot more people on the bus. Bus lines could afford to run later. Local residents wouldn’t need cars. Oil companies would “lose” money. Drunk drivers vote, and they think they can drive better drunk than you can sober. (They say this to people about whose driving skills they know nothing.)

Everybody knew George W. Bush was a convicted drunk driver when he got elected President of the United States in 2000 and re-elected in 2004. Most voters care about drunk driving only when it’s a convenient excuse to impose unjust laws on people under 21.

Gasoline prices soared after Hurricane Katrina. People are driving less. Perhaps a 10% lower probability that somebody will be “running” the green light when a drunk driver runs the red light. Fewer drunk driving deaths. And the hate-mongering MADD bigots will cite the tougher underage drinking laws.

Cops are old enough to be considered responsible for their own actions. If they enforce the drinking age, it is their fault it is enforced. They’re free to get a job and work for a living instead. Enemies of liberty, here’s a dead cop in your face: On 19 November 2002, a Freedom Fighter waited at a gas station in Red Bluff, California, for the next cop to pull in to refuel a patrol car. The Freedom Fighter marched up, took out the cop with a few shots, and fled. He later explained his motives on a website. The drinking age was one such motive. Only when the oppressors have to pay the price with the blood of their beloved cops, for their deliberate, malicious wrongdoing, will they care about the demands of outvoted citizens. If you vote for candidates who support the drinking age, you’re not pulling the trigger, but you are pulling the lever. By preventing a nonviolent solution with ballots, you force a violent solution with bullets. Vote wrong, cops die. Don’t like it? Don’t do it.

What about the time on 2 October 1976 when a drunk 15-year-old gunned down a cop in Manchester, New Hampshire?

The cop was responding to a noise complaint. It’s likely the cop-killer was in the wrong for making so much noise. I’m only interested in cases where the cop-killer is 100 percent in the right, cases that can be attributed to Operation USA Freedom.

What about on 20 February 1999 when a 20-year-old drunk gunned down a Kane Borough, Pennsylvania police officer?

Also likely the cop-killer was in the wrong, because the cop-killer was driving after drinking.

MADD is a 501(c)(3) non-profit grass roots organization with more than 600 chapters nationwide. MADD is not a crusade against alcohol consumption - MADD’s mission is to stop drunk driving, support the victims of this violent crime, and prevent underage drinking.

One reason is that they are insanely jealous, because people under 21 are young and free, and the bigots are not. Some of them want it to be official that they are better than those other people, so they prevail on the government to declare that cocaine junkies and underage drinkers are criminals, while people over 21 who drink are law-abiding citizens. Another reason is that somebody drove drunk once upon a time, and didn’t get adequately punished for the crash, and the bigots can only get revenge on somebody else under 21. It’s no longer fashionable to promote discrimination on the basis of race, nationality or religion, so they promote violence against people under 21. Others committed serious wrongdoing years ago, by driving drunk, and try to reconcile their present tough stance against drunk driving with their own conscience reminding them that they drove drunk. They think they can erase their wrongdoing by imposing unjust laws on other people. But perhaps the biggest reason is: Follow the money. Some of the big auto makers are among their biggest sponsors, and they profit from drunk driving. Drunk drivers smash cars, the insurance company pays, and the owner buys another car. The big auto makers don’t want any crackdown on drunk driving, so they want MADD to focus on innocent people instead.

What’s violent about the drinking age?

Violence takes many forms. It may not seem violent to put poison in food, but if you kill somebody, it’s murder, which is clearly violent. The bigots command their government to dispatch gun-toting mercenaries in bulletproof vests to patrol and intimidate, threatening to grab and handcuff, and force into the patrol car and deliver to the government’s jail, persons whose nonviolent conduct is distasteful to the bigots. Forcing somebody into a patrol car is violent. Locking somebody in jail is violent. Stealing their beer by force is violent.

But the drunk driving statistics have improved greatly over the last few decades.

Statistics of other people are no excuse for the use of gun-toting goons in bulletproof vests against an innocent person. Want better statistics? Support better laws against drunk driving. Don’t infringe the right to drink and not drive.

Arrests are up because drunk people are getting busted just for opening a car door. Fatalities are way down because of faster response times. Due to the proliferation of cell phones, it is not as common to need to take the next exit and lose precious time looking for a payphone to report a crash. Ambulances arrive with better medical technology, and bring crash victims to hospitals with better technology, faster than ever before. Cell phones also allow witnesses to report drunk drivers before they crash.

Furthermore, many drunk driving deaths are not listed as such, because the driver flees the scene. Cached In the past, when drunk drivers could kill somebody and get probation, drivers would stay at the scene. Now, they flee, and even though they may get caught, there’s no proof they were drunk, so the death isn’t listed as a drunk driving crash. Case in point: A 32-year-old cop allegedly ran a stop sign and ran over and killed a 15-year-old discrimination victim in Chicago on 22 September 2005, NBC 5 ...Cached Witnesses saw the cop in a tavern before the crash, but there isn’t proof the cop was drunk.

Statistical analysis is boring, so don’t expect your TV to spoon-feed you much of it. People change channels. Statistical analysis does not support the hate-mongering bigots from MADD. If you have a lifetime clean driving record, what better statistics can they want from you? They don’t want better statistics. They want to use crimes committed by other people as an excuse to dispatch gun-toting mercenaries in bullet-resistant vests to grab you, handcuff you, force you into a car against your will and deliver you to the government’s jail, and force your landlord to evict you from your apartment for drinking your own property. If the statistics go up, MADD will say this “proves” how irresponsible people under 21 are. If the statistics go down, they’ll say this “proves” how the drinking age works, and must not be repealed. You cannot win with hate-mongering, irrational bigots.

Have you ever driven drunk? No? Ah, that proves you drive drunk. You deny it, just like all drunk drivers do. Denial is proof, admission is proof, you can’t win with bigots like that, and they get to vote.

The government has no right to impose any drinking age, period.

By repealing the drinking age restriction, members of the state legislature are not “allowing” teenagers to drink, any more than teenagers are “allowing” members of the state legislature to drink.

If the drinking age is repealed, how do we stop young people from getting drunk?

If we respect freedom of the press, how will we stop newspapers from publishing editorials criticizing the government? We won’t. Of course, parents retain the authority to restrict drinking by the children living with them. Furthermore, eliminating subsidies for state colleges would mean the students would spend 8 hours working and 4 hours studying, instead of 4 hours studying and 8 hours drinking. Too bad the enemies of liberty use the enormous power of government to steal so much money from people who didn’t even get into college.

What should be done to cut down on drunk driving by young people?

The mock crash demonstrations are the best way to explain to the young drivers that the time to undo a fatal crash is before it happens, by not driving after drinking. Videos need to be produced, splicing one segment after another of TV news coverage of selected drunk driving crashes, adding only the date, and the call letters, channel number and location of the station. Have teenagers watch one after another and get the message that drunk drivers are the most hated creatures in the county. It doesn’t matter which county, since TV news brings you there.

Another strategy is to remind them of the consequences. If you drive drunk, you’ll get a criminal record. When you try to go to Alberta, Manitoba or Quebec, where the drinking age is 18, you’ll be turned away at the border because of your criminal record. If you crash, you could face a serious charge. Imagine turning 21 and not being able to have a legal drink because you’re in prison, or on parole or probation, forbidden to drink.

Outvoted discrimination victims: Don’t blame licensees, who are afraid themselves of being arrested for selling or serving their own property. The government and its cops are the enemy.

Food for thought: Somebody drunk offers you a ride. Is it wrong to accept? The drunk is the one committing the crime, and putting you in danger, and it’s your life. However, the drunk is offering to endanger innocent people for you. It is wrong to accept such an offer. If somebody gets killed, you are legally blameless, but innocent blood is on your hands. The drunk wasn’t going to drive that trip without you in the car.

If you are carrying alcoholic beverages and haven’t started drinking yet, there’s nothing wrong with keeping a gun handy in case the cops stop you and want to handcuff you and force you into a car against your will and deliver you to the government’s jail. If we could somehow put a gun in the hands of Senator Judd Gregg’s wife on 7 October 2003, she’d be justified in shooting those two guys who were taking her into their custody and forcing her into their car. The Second Amendment wasn’t written for sportsmen.

The State legislature shouldn’t have voted to use the cops as weapons of unprovoked violence against you, if they didn’t want you to take their weapons away from them.

The courts should strike down the underage drinking statutes if they don’t want you to strike down the cops.

However, you must store the firearm safely before you start drinking. Your right to defend yourself against a cop does not include the right to miss and strike an innocent person. Drinking and guns don’t mix.

Look, buddy, if they’re drinking under age, they deserve the punishment they face. The drinking age is the law. If you don’t like the law, change it. The cop is just doing his job. He has a family. It’s not okay to shoot the cop just because you hold the opinion that the law is wrong.

Try the National Motorists Association, which opposes drunk driving and takes no position on the drinking age. Also New York DUI Also, http://www.ddreform.org opposes drunk driving. They link to MADD but do not promote hatred and government-sponsored violence against everybody under 21.
It is also worth noting that MADD Canada does not promote violence against people under 21.

Ontario

MADD Canada doesn’t promote bigotry against people under 21. If anybody tries to argue that the drinking age in Ontario should be raised to be equal to that in the USA because of all the 19- and -20-year-olds getting killed in drunk driving crashes in Detroit, Michigan, right along the border, they are implying that those people drank in Ontario and crossed the border. Be sure to point out that they are including people like Nehemiah Thompson, 20, killed 19 June 2004 by a Detroit cop who drove drunk, the wrong way down a one-way street, and Marvin Shaina, 19, killed 30 January 2005 by a drunk Detroit cop who only got probation.
